GENESIS PROJECT AND INTERNATIONAL ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN CHARITY (IOCC)
- COOPERATION ON PROJECT "IOCC NGO FAIR - BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 2006"

Project "IOCC NGO Fair - Banjaluka, August 2006" is funded by International Orthodox Christian Charity - IOCC

In Bosnia and Herzegovina it is still very obvious, how little wide public knows about non-governmental organizations and about ways and possibilities of becoming more active member of the civil society. That is why "Genesis Project" and majority of local NGO community think that organization of NGO Fair is an excellent opportunity for wider public introduction with civil society and NGOs.

Through direct contact and through distribution of various NGOs promotional material we can introduce ourselves to all interested Fair visitors, we can hope that some of our visitors will decide to join us and by doing so that they will empower us and help us to more strongly support our goals and initiatives.

During July and August 2006 Genesis Project will, thanks to the funding from International Orthodox Christian Charities and United States Department of Agriculture implement project "IOCC NGO Fair – Banjaluka August 2006".

Goals of this project are:

A. Presentation of work of 25 NGOs from Federation and Republika Srpska.
B. Media promotion of NGOs, IOCC and the Fair.
C. Education of wider public on role and importance of NGOs.
D. Strengthening and deepening of partnership relationship between local NGOs.

Fair took place on August 25 and 26, 2006 in City park "Petar Kočić" and in Slatina, Banjaluka.

GENESIS PROJECT AND B.A.R.F. (BALKAN AID RELIEF FOUNDATION)
- COOPERATION ON PROJECTS
"HUMANITARIAN AID CONVOYS TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"

Project "Humanitarian aid convoys to Bosnia and Herzegovina" is funded by
Balkan Aid Relief Foundation - B.A.R.F.

Balkan Aid Relief Foundation (BARF) is a non-profit making aid agency run by Land Rover enthusiasts who organize aid convoys to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their own off-road vehicles.

Wonderful co-operation between Balkan Aid Relief Foundation (BARF) and Genesis Project started in June 2000. Since then, people from BARF have delivered twelve substantial shipments of humanitarian aid to Banja Luka and western part of Republika Srpska. This part of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of over 700.000 people. Last convoy was organized during February 2006.

Trustees of BARF with Mr. Neil Ross Newitt as Chairman organized all humanitarian aid convoys.

Thanks to these wonderful people from BARF and their efforts, we were able to distribute huge amount of humanitarian aid to all people and institutions in need, here in Bosnia and Herzegovina and there are a big number of them.

Numbers speak for themselves. Thanks to BARF, we were able to help and bring necessary humanitarian aid to numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations, such as:

  • primary schools,
  • specialized educational institutions for children with special need,
  • different local humanitarian organizations involved in helping to refugee, internally
displaced and socially endangered domestic population,
  • different clinics throughout western part of Republika Srpska,
  • Banja Luka Clinical Centre – different clinics,
  • many other formal and non-formal associations of citizens.

The importance of this humanitarian aid is beyond its commercial value because people of United Kingdom give it with love to people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that is the most important thing.

We hope that we will continue our cooperation with Balkan Aid Relief Foundation, in order to help people of Bosnia and Herzegovina who still need our assistance very much, in order to live their lives with a bit more of dignity and humanity.
